Review of “Death of the author”

                It is believed that the radical political events of the late 1960s are matched in France by emerging of radical ideas associated with theorist and philosopher .These new ideas have subsequently been grouped under the rather broad category of post-structuralism. Thus, Roland Barthe ’s work  especially “death of the author” of this period was greatly influenced by pot structuralism ideas. Regarding this essay," Death of the author" ,he insisted that removing the author as origin of text give multiple meaning to the text. Since , on the one hand ,classic criticism give importance to the author of the text , on the other hand , New criticism  capture victory by not considering  author. In order to clarify on these issues the reviewer is trying to explain such ideas that why the author is the ultimate meaning in classic criticism and if the author be absent in the text , the new criticism celebrates the birth of the reader.
                   Due to this essay , in section one , he gives us an example to show that “author ”is not the center of the story ; in fact, the author , Barthe  notes , has always functioned within capitalist society as the ‘anchor ’of a literary work signifier ; in addition , the author is posited as the center of the work :the origin of all the work’ s meaning ; moreover , he mentioned that ‘ explanation ’of the work is still sought in the person of its producer. Actually ,the critic of classic criticism give ultimate meaning to  the text by  discovering  the author especially his society , history ,psych , liberty  beneath the work .
                  If the text be free from the author , the text will have multiple meaning ; in fact , Barthe  champions the reader and  promotes  literature in which gives reader an active  and creative role ; consequently , he urged that we should study not the author but the text through the reader.
                  To sum up , in his essay , shows  that reader   can read a text  with pleasure while he has own view and culture and a text multiple due to its reader ' s different  culture ; moreover, the reader feels free while he is  reading a text because now he doesn’t  need to know about the author  to find  the meaning of the text.
